We invite potential sponsors to become part of European Freelancers Week (#EFWeek) and connect with thousands of independent workers. This is your chance to connect with thousands of freelancers and communicate your brand as a solution for their needs.
#EFWeek is an annual series of events held under a common branding in different European countries. This is the world’s largest people-driven campaign raising public awareness to the rapidly growing Freelance Economy.
The first ever European Freelancers Week was held from October 17 to 23, 2016 all across Europe. 64 events in 14 countries have been organised including meetups, workshops, matchmaking sessions, conferences, networking events, and hackathons. An estimated 2.000 freelancers have taken part in these events with a 500.000 social media outreach. They were held mostly in coworking spaces. We expect to double these numbers in 2017.
The objective of the initiative is to facilitate community building, empower freelancers to join forces and improve conditions of independent working through learning, sharing, networking and policy action. It is hoped the initiative will bring more recognition to the value freelancers bring to the European economy and and society.
The target group of the #EFWeek are freelancers from across Europe, above all those located in coworking spaces. We define freelancers (often referred to as independent professionals or solo-entrepreneurs) as highly-skilled self-employed workers without employers nor employees. There are nearly 10.5 million freelancers in the European Union, around 5% of the total labour force.
#EFWeek is your chance to make a difference for your freelance community. The tremendous variation of backgrounds, skills and affiliations among independent workers has made it difficult to forge a unified voice that compels attention. The time has come to right that wrong.
#EFWeek is coordinated by a coalition of national freelancers’ associations in in 11 EU countries with an approximate direct reach to 3.6 million freelancers. It has been endorsed by more than 30 organizations, including the European Forum of Independent Professionals, the European Coworking Assembly, Seats2Meet and Smart EU.
Our team has drafted guidelines and designed a toolkit with templates, press releases, hashtags and logos to be used by the local events organisers. Our team will coordinate the whole initiative, i.e. facilitate contacts with national coordinators and supporters, check that events submission and scope of events are in line with the guidelines and liaise with journalists, sponsors and activate social media channels.
Freelancers are a fast-growing market segment of early adopters and influencers. They spend money on online tools, financial services, high-end hardware, digital platforms and accounting. They are usually hard to reach, but #EFWeek brings them together and gets their attention!.
We have several sponsorship options, from top-level branding to individual event support. The contributions from sponsorship will pay for content development, marketing materials, online and offline promotion, dedicated media coverage, and toolkits. Our team is available to discuss these sponsorship options with you at your convenience.
